The Palau Red Cross Society (PRCS) is committed to helping communities stay safe, healthy, and prepared. From lifesaving training to disaster support, youth programs, and community outreach, PRCS offers services that strengthen the well-being of people across Palau.

Health & Safety Training

PRCS provides practical training to equip individuals with essential lifesaving skills:

  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation): Learn how to respond in cardiac emergencies.

  • Commercial First Aid (CFA) / Basic Life Support (BLS): Hands-on training in first aid and life support for everyday situations or workplace safety.

These courses are open to anyone interested in helping family, friends, coworkers, or the community.

Disaster Preparedness & Response

PRCS helps communities prepare for and respond to emergencies:

  • Red Cross Disaster Action Teams (RDATs): Volunteers from every state are trained to assist communities before, during, and after emergencies.

  • Single-Incident Emergency Response (SIE): Responses may be health-related or disaster-related:

    • Health-related: Support with hygiene supplies, food, clothing, and other essentials.

    • Disaster-related: Assistance after floods, strong winds, landslides, fallen trees, house fires, and other emergencies.

  • Remote Village Support: RDAT volunteers guide citizens in remote areas who are far from warning systems, helping with evacuation and safety.

  • Psychological Support: PRCS offers Psychological First Aid, helping individuals cope with trauma and stress following disasters.

Community Engagement & Volunteer Programs

PRCS encourages participation to build stronger communities:

  • Youth Programs (YADAPT – Youth Adapt): Youth officials lead climate-focused activities such as tree planting, campaigns, and community outreach, while developing leadership and teamwork skills.

  • Volunteer Program: Open to all ages, volunteers gain hands-on humanitarian experience and contribute to the community.

  • Outreaches & Campaigns: School and community visits raise awareness on health, climate, disaster preparedness, and other important topics.

  • Blood Services: PRCS organizes or partners on blood donation drives and assists Belau National Hospital with urgent blood requests.

  • Sengsongd Thrift Store: Open to all, the store offers gently used items to support low-income families while contributing to funding PRCS’s Single-Incident Emergency Response programs.
